What is a FRIA? An FAA-Recognized Identifiable Area (FRIA) allows our members to fly their radio controlled model aircraft or Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) as they always have, without the need for Remote ID broadcast equipment. FAA UAS Remote ID rules go into effect on March 16, 2024.

AMA is excited to announce that we have been granted a National Authorization allowing our members at AMA club sites in Class G airspace to operate above 400 feet above ground level (AGL) for routine, day-to-day activities. Your flying site, Wilmington Model Flying Club - Union Chapel Rd, has been granted a 1200 foot altitude limit.
